Celebrate God’s Creation
On Sunday, May 2, a wonderful group of all ages gathered to celebrate God’s beautiful creation. Attendees got to go on a nature scavenger hunt, play recycling games, design garden logo artwork, make plant impressions with both paint and clay, plant popcorn seeds, make prayer sticks to bless our garden fence and learn about our new beautiful garden while harvesting our first crop to be served later that day through our Food Ministry. Last, but not least, everyone got to leave with some Earth Day activity sheets AND a treat bag which included ingredients to make your own dirt dessert complete with “worms”. The best part of that? We also included real dirt and seeds along with planting instructions so the plastic pudding container could be reused! A HUGE thanks from Deacon Carol to some special earth-loving folks who made this event possible: Carolyn Fleming, Leslie and Emily Gates, Lily and Ellen Gunder, Megan Meeker, Jean Moser, Vicki Mutter, Pastor Scott, Lindsey Waltermyer and Nikki Young. Mother Earth was smiling!!! And thanks to all who came out and made the day so special!
