An Even Playing Field. Wouldn't we all enjoy an even playing playing field some time. Jesus gives us just that in his sermon on the Plain, or rather sermon on even ground. The ground today, given the politicization of everything may be actually be divided by a large ever increasing gap. Depending which side of the gap you are on, his words may offend or scare one, or encourage and give hope. Come see how this gap we live on every day can be closed and this society may get moving in the direction of the greater good, with all living on a level plain, or playing field.

Hope is not the result or outcome of a process; however, it is the beginning step of a fantastic journey. In reading John 3, I can attest that John the Baptist was no salesman! Aside from his dietary habits and clothes, his message was a hard sale to hear with little room for interpretation; however, his end product he was selling, Christ the Savior, was the real deal. Gospel Discussion 12 1 21 God of Life and Hope
So I ask, are we too in the United States becoming a wilderness? And what does it mean to be in the wilderness? Could it be that we are away from the center of God's calling so to speak.
Could we be wandering to find our calling from God amongst all the worldly calling of the small gods who want our idolization? Jesus himself left his disciples and others to pray in the wilderness. Alone with God and himself. Maybe to hear and find the true God amongst all the clammering and images presented by some as the true god. A god void of the good news John and Jesus were to cry out.
